Dandelion seeds blowing in the wind

Dandelions are often considered unwanted weeds in well-kept lawns, but they can actually be beneficial to gardeners by attracting pollinating bees and insects, as well as enriching the soil for shallow-rooted plants. The dandelion plant is also a healthy food source, being high in vitamins and calcium. The name dandelion refers to the serrated leaves' resemblance to the teeth of a lion, originating from the French "dent de lion".
