Yellow ginkgo leaves in autumn

The ginkgo, also known as the Maidenhair Tree, is prized for its vibrant yellow display during autumn. While the tree is widely planted for its foliage, it is considered an endangered plant species due to decreasing propagation by seed. Most cultivation by humans is done by cuttings so that only male trees are selected. The fleshy seeds produced by the female trees have a smell that is similar to vomit, making them unwelcome near human dwellings.
